First and foremost my deepest thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jeremiah Tao @jeremiahtao who asked me to attend the @sbcpooficial in his absence. When he asked me, my heart stopped. Imagine looking up to a master Oculofacial surgeon your entire career and then being asked to fill his shoes 😳. A mixture of disbelief, shock, and deep deep gratitude. 🙏🏽

There are certain experiences that have shaped me as a surgeon and person. Brazil will forever be one those experiences. This was my first international conference as a speaker. The oculofacial plastic surgeons I met are people that I will forever look up to and strive to embody; as surgeons, as clinicians, and as people. The passion the Brazilian oculofacial plastic surgeons have for our craft has sparked a new fire under me. It has given me renewed meaning and perspective. There are no words to describe the love I have for the warmth, the hospitality, and the kindness of the Brazilian people. Obrigada Brasil! 🙏🏽

Congrats to Dr. Filipe Pereira @drfilipepereira on organizing and executing one of the best conferences I have ever been a part of. Thank you to my American colleagues @drbradfordlee @setabutr , who showed me the ropes and took me under their wings. It was an honor to stand beside your light. I am eternally grateful for this experience. I return back home with a renewed light and even deeper motivation and passion for my craft and career. Obrigada Florianopolis!
